What's Going on with Flippity?

On July 31, 2025 Google changed the way they display published Google Sheets which broke their connection with Flippity. Any activity based on a Google Sheet would error out because Flippity could no longer see the data. (And naturally this happened right before a week-long vacation.)

As of August 11, I've managed to find a work around for most spreadsheet-based activities. The following activities are back online:

• Flashcards
• Flexcards
• Quiz Show
• Randomizer (multiple columns)
• Video Game
• Badge Tracker
• Leader Board
• Typing Test
• Progress Indicator
• MadLibs

Unfortunately the fix only works for spreadsheets that have just one tab. That rules out a quick fix for Flippity activities that use multiple tabs for data and or options. This affects:

• Color By Number
• Virtual Breakout
• Board Game
• Manipulatives
• Matching Game
• Connecto
• Bingo
• Timeline
• Spelling Words
• Crossword Puzzle
• Tournament Bracket
• Certificate Quiz
• Self-Assessment

I'll be working diligently in the coming days and weeks to bring as many of these activities back to life as possible. (I'm a teacher and I depend on a lot of these things too.) Activities that don't actually need options should be relatively quick fixes (Manipulatives, Matching Game, Connecto, Bingo, Crossword Puzzle, Tournament Bracket). Activities that require multiple tabs of information will take more time and may require a new template or a completely new way of doing things.

My priority will be on getting Spelling Words and Virtual Breakout working as soon as possible.
